Sonoma Art Walk was created in 2018 by a partnership of local organizations including the Arts Guild of Sonoma, Sonoma Community Center, Sonoma Valley Chamber of Commerce and Sonoma Valley Museum of Art.

To Sonoma with Love
The Art Walk was launched with a goal of showing off the immense creative talent that exists in our Valley, expanding cultural activities for residents and highlighting many of the wonderful businesses and other venues in our downtown plaza area. Sonoma Art Walk was supported in its early months by generous grants from Creative Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley Tourism Improvement District.

Sonoma Art Walk was supported in its early months by generous grants from Creative Sonoma and the Sonoma Valley Tourism Improvement District. The organizers planned to “start small” and allow the Art Walk to organically grow over the course of a year or so. However, the community’s response was immediate and overwhelmingly positive. After just a few months, the Sonoma Art Walk had become a highly regarded and well attended celebration of the Arts in our community’s historic Plaza district.

Like many community events, COVID caused a hiatus for this program but with great excitement the Sonoma Art Walk is relaunching in October 2023 with plans to continue on the first Thursday of each month. Sonoma Art Walk continues to receive oversight and support from the four organizations listed above and with additional financial support from the City of Sonoma.

The Art Walk will be held on the first Thursday of each month from 5:00-7:30pm and begins with a “kick-off” at the host venue. See the map page for a list of participating venues.
